About the role
Montego Pet Nutrition is looking for a Driver’s Assistant to support deliveries, stock handling and transport operations.
Key responsibilities
• Load and secure stock on trucks and check for damage.
• Offload stock according to Proof of Delivery (POD) documents.
• Pack and secure returned stock.
• Assist the driver with paperwork and deliveries.
• Pick and stack stock according to procedures.
• Ensure damaged stock is not selected.
• Keep the truck and workplace clean and organised.
• Follow occupational health, safety and food-safety procedures, including FSSC 22000 requirements.
Requirements
• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
• Valid Code C1 (10) with PrDP or Code EC (14) is advantageous but not required.
• Stock loading and stacking skills.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Reliable, energetic, presentable and a team player.
• Basic product, warehouse-layout and safety knowledge.
• Physically fit and able to lift bags weighing up to 40kg.
• Willing to travel long distances with the driver, including possible early starts and overnight stays.
• Flexible to perform additional duties when required, including outside normal working hours.
